She was far far over the holidays. Done with the sappiness, done with the cheer, done with it all. The only holiday spirit she knew was the one you could pick up at the grocery store, and even that had too many calories. She was disheartened and discouraged. The new year couldn’t come any quicker and more quietly.
She was going to sail to the shore, leaving no trace behind. The waters were rough, the wind was wild and all she wanted to do was close her eyes.
Tired she was. She put up a good fight. Exhaustion was sinking in, along with everything else.
She saw the end in the distance, but it looked nothing like the pictures.
And then suddenly, the tide changed. Everything she once knew shifted. Her gloom turned to bliss. And her bliss turned to an indescribable sensation. What was this? A feeling she never knew. Buried deep within her, he had found it.
As she steered her ship, the scenery looked different. She looked different. It was everything she needed, but didn’t even know. She jerked the wheel back around. Her sights were set on somewhere new. She was off into the beautiful unknown. With her eyes wide open, along with her heart, she was ready to take on this adventure.
Suddenly, the holidays didn’t seem so bad after all. In fact, it was the best damn holiday she ever had.
