Shake it up, Shake it up
Cheer up that summertime sadness with a delicious summertime smoothie. I became obsessed with smoothies this past year. They are tasty, refreshing and oh so healthy for you. Smoothies are great to drink after a workout, especially this recipe below because it’s protein packed. It not only fills you up, but it keeps you energized throughout the day. It is a scrumptious meal in a glass that you can take on the go if needed. So bust out those blenders and get to shakin!
What You’ll Need
It’s important to get the 0% Fage Yogurt because it has the most protein for your buck. Using an overripe banana will give you the best flavor as well. I recommend unsweetened almond milk because it has a lower amount of calories and is a good source of calcium. You can pick whatever whey protein powder you would like to add (vanilla works best with almost anything). Mix all the ingredients together and you’ve got yourself one mouthwatering drink!
Other ingredients you can add to this:
- Other fruits : strawberries, mango, blueberries, etc.
- Peanut butter : natural peanut butter (without hydrogenated oil), Peanut Butter & Co’s White Chocolate Wonderful or Cookie Butter from Trader Joe’s
- Chia Seeds (high in Omega Threes)
